Fuel Gauge Fault

Hi I’ve got a 1969 early bay and have a fault with fuel gauge only working intermittently.

I’ve replaced the sender unit and it still doesn’t work. Is it common for the fuel gauge to be faulty? Wiring seems ok. Any help would be great. Thanks

Check the earth wire on the tank, gauges can get sticky as well

Also check the spade terminals on the back of the guage, they have a fibre isolation washer that can cause problems
