I've just purchased a 72 bay,, just found that the engine I'd completely running
by puttin on test machine!!
It is totally filthy with grease n oil n got a coating of sanding dust..
Anybody know word best to get it looking good!!
Do i need to strip it all down??

I've used a very light spray of brake cleaner, it evaporates so no need for lots of rubbing with clothes

Paraffin would do the trick too

i covered up all electrics and then blasted under the lid with jet wash came up a treat

I have the engine out of the bus on a stand
is it worth covering all holes, spray degreaser
and give it a blast with the power wash!!
Or will I damage it??

Personally I would stick to degreaser, a brush and a cloth. I wouldn't put water near mine to be honest for no other reason than trying to prevent water from getting into bits you don't want it might be tricky.
