If you want a quality exhaust i would go for an exhaust from Hausmann Fabrications Limited on FB. Vintage Volkshaus.

I know he makes great stuff but it may be a bit ott for my standard little engine!

Hey dude! I’m good mate with dave the old owner, gert is still looking great👌🏼
What air shocks/ride etc you gone for?
Cheers wilf

Hi Wilf, i remember your old bus. Loved that thing but the new one is looking amazing too.

I've got hold of some Gabriel Hijackers from the States. These along with limebug air management should give me four way independent 'air assisted' suspension. It should give me a little lift when loaded up for camping etc. Full air ride may follow though......

Cheers dude! Yeah was a lovely bus an not really seen it since i sold it so not sure where it’s at nowadays!!
Yeah I’m loving me new bus an can’t wait to get out in it this summer, think it maybe running something similar to those you’ve bought on the front of mine, their like bigger bagged shockers but it’s running bags on the rear! Rides nice and have plenty of lift too!
Look forward to seeing your updates on gert😎
Cheers wilf

Whilst I’m on a bit of a roll with posting I thought I’d share a few pics from a family camping trip to the Llyn peninsula this summer (remember that?).

I told Katie to pack as light as possible but as more and more gear got loaded the bus got lower and lower. We set off anyway and got half way down our road when the familiar sounds of a bus with no suspension travel started. So we turned back for a bit of emergency suspension raising.

40 minutes later and we were off. Again!

The route from the midlands to North Wales is beautiful but very hilly so we took it steady and just admired the scenery.

Lunch stop at Bala.

At the top of the steepest ascent. Gert needed a little rest.

About 110 miles into the 120 journey a loud knocking noise started which was bad enough to make me stop immediately and investigate. The kids had said that the noise was coming from the back on the left hand side so I had a look there and emerged with the shock and popped in on the parcel shelf. We’d lost the top bolt somewhere on the Porthmadog bypass. Katie was a bit a bit alarmed as we set off but was reassured when I said ‘it’s fine, don’t worry ‘. I hoped it would be!

A little bit of clonking later we arrived safely at our campsite.

We spent a lovely few days revisiting places I went to as a kid and had an ace time. Places we went to included Abersoch, Criccieth and the amazing Black Rock Sands.

After a couple of days the replacement bolt turned up. Sorted.

We were having such a good time we didn’t want the holiday to end so I booked us a night in a hotel I Llangollen which is sort of on the way home.

Gert getting hot up those Welsh hills.

Just outside Llangollen is the highest aqueduct in the world (I may have just made that up!). It’s amazing and well worth the visit if you don’t mind heights.

Nice pics, hope we get another great summer!

Sounds like your suspension is taking a bit of a hammering when fully loaded. Maybe the air ride will cure that ?

Like the Fuchs wheels. [emoji41]
