Anyone any thoughts ?

Oops this thread's gone along a bit...

The spiral one will not squash. Why it sells as fuel hose I don't know. I got it at the time out of desperation as the correct part was out of stock and stupidly expensive. In the end, they came back in stock and I got my wallet out.

I might have given it a go on my own bus, but if it leaked on a customer's after I'd been charged with stopping the leak, I'd have had to do it all again free and gratis which didn't weigh up well against the cost of the correct part.

Okay, cool. Where / who has the correct part?

Rallye Dale tried what looks like the 'correct part', and it turned out to be wrong.

Awesome! I will give them a shout tomorrow as it says 'call for price' :?

Great looking engine bay you have there too.

How come you have an inspection hatch? Did you put that in yourself?

Also, do you mind telling me what you used for the material that sits between the fuel tank hold-down straps and the tank? :?:

when i order the price was on there?! if you order from them i think i order a 200mm length.
yes i have added a later bay hatch for a planned engine conversion in the future.but i am unsure if it will be much use compaired to a wedge/type 3 hatch. i have cut some foam for under the straps.

Found this when googling part no.

Ordered one from Demon Tweeks:

It is the correct size 8) but, it isn't as nice looking as rallye dale's one (if that's possible) as it does not have the white writing on. I guess no one will see it anyway though

If anyone else is reading this trying to find one, to confirm, this is correct:

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/fuel-filler-neck-hose/mocal-straight-fuel-filler-neck-hose" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Although, I ordered 300mm just to be sure and cut the excess off and it cost me around £40 including shipping and clips.

Thanks for help chaps / rallye dale :party0047:

I've managed to sort this now at a reasonable cost, ring this guy in the link below, he will sell you 250mm of 57mm ID fuel hose, for about £13 plus the vat and delivery, really nice chap, he had the same problem so had it made :)

Good job chap, I have exactly the same part, but it cost me nearly £40 all in from Deamon Tweaks!

BTW, have you sealed your tank? I have bought a load of 'Marine Clean' and sealent from Frosts Automotive. No where near ready to put the tank in yet though :(

can i ask, are normal worn drive jubilees ok ? all the things ive read about fuel hose (tank to engine) should be the other nut/bolt kind ??? :?

I have no idea, as I say the bus is quite a way off needing the fuel tank put back in.

I am assuming they will be OK as Daemon Tweaks recommended them, but then they could be wrong :stonehim:

rallye dale - what are you using dude, your clip is facing the other way so I can't tell what fixing it has on it?

I've been wondering the same about the clips, i have got stainless jubilee's from c&c, but i got them ages ago, the orignals were not jubilee's they are like the other smaller hose clips so think i am going to look on ebay for the other type

I've not sealed the tank as it looks mint on the inside, i washed it out with gunk and hot water and then had it powder coated on the outside

Hmm I'm thinking if you attach the jubilees so the mechanism is at the top of the pipe, it might be okay? :?

I am assuming the issue with jubilees is that they do not create a perfectly round seal due to their design with the mechanical screw mechanism? I've used small jubilees on my Cherokee's injection system (indirect injection) which seem to be okay. :msn4:

I've just bought a couple of these
