High is the new Low - my 71 camper

Thanks for the kind comments. It’s certainly getting used. Even in the rubbish weather. Scraped it on the wall 2 weeks ago though! 🙄🙄🤦🏻‍♂️ Always going to happen at some point.

High is the new Low - my 71 camper

Thank you mate. Appreciated. Never seen another set of Western wheels for sale on correct stud pattern and ET. I guess they must be out there somewhere but so few landmark conversions were made, there can’t be that many sets kicking about 🤷🏻‍♂️. I just got super lucky. 👍👍

High is the new Low - my 71 camper

They're off a Late bay 1978 Landmark Conversion camper. Pretty rare I think as they were so chuffing expensive, that not many of them were sold. They only made them in 2 colours, blue and white or brown and white with Pimped up fat biscuit headlining, spot lights inside, captains swivel seats...

High is the new Low - my 71 camper

Cheers dude! yep, I love a low van too but with all the engine and box issues, I couldn't afford the money to get it slammed and its gotto be reasonable practical to get into fields without ripping the exhaust off so its staying stock height! Yep, the wheels are my favourite part of the whole...

High is the new Low - my 71 camper

Well after 3 years of ballaches - mainly with the engine and numerous gearboxes, I'm finally finding the love for my van. I've been using it everyday now since the end of June and done nearly 3000 miles. Got a few things to do over winter before it starts getting used for the family camping...

    Any tips on maximising Cooling?

Hi all, Using the van as my daily at the moment but going on a motorway trip on wednesday (about 200 mile round trip) and the weather looks like its going to be Scorchio at about 33 Degrees. Apart from all the usual things like Complete tinware and seals is there anything I can do to keep the...

Right type of shift rod for 1971 bus

Hi all, Don't suppose anyone of you brilliant people could tell me the right kind of long shift rod (that connects to the front rod with a collar and grub screw) I need for my 1971 (aug 70 build date) bus could you? The one I have is a bit knackered and looks like its been modified slightly...

    Compression Loss

Hi all, I have had my motor rebuilt last year and had mahle 1641 barrels and pistons fitted and twin 34 weber ICT carbs. It runs fine but has always leaked oil the cause of which has now been identified as an over pressurised crankcase despite it having a bugpack breather kit and vented rocker...

New Gearbox Popping out of Gear

Cheers for the advice. All checks out ok and moved the plate. When the bus is stationary with the engine off it feels fine and shifts into all gears as I believe it should, when driving, it still doesn't feel like its engaging reverse, 2nd or 4th properly. It doesn't jump out of gear all the...

New Gearbox Popping out of Gear

Hi all, Forgive me if this subject has been covered already. Did a search and nothing came up. After having an issue with a supposedly 'repaired' gearbox, I decided I'd had enough of the whining and leaking so bought a new rancho box which I have had fitted. Its been my first drive in it today...
