Hey guys can anyone help me find the correct part?

VW Heritage have one that I think is correct, but it says from '72-'79 :?

http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Fuel-filler-hose-tank-end-72_act_shop.product_pID_153800_lang_EN_country_GB.htm?crumbPageToLoad=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cheers, :msn4:

yeah thats not the correct one, i had to buy a length of silicone and use it as no-one supplies the new one

i bought via ebay this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/57mm-2-1-4-ID-Silicone-Silicon-Hose-Pipe-1-Metre-Blue-/180480228572?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a0575bcdc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

but it doesnt have the fuel / vapour protection thing, but it's been ok for 2 years now, and i have loads spare to change if i need, plus i did have some submerged in fuel for a few weeks and it didnt rot out, but there must be something in it i guess

or your other option

Thank you for the reply Analog, glad I didn't buy the other one now, especially at £50+. :shadey:

That looks alright, good find. Even better if you have tested it for that amount of time. I guess, at least the fuel isn't touching the pipe permanently, unless you have a full tank and it sloshes-around. :?

Do you mean number 24 on this top diagram? :?:

Nice that it says it is specifically for fuel, but very expensive. :scared0012:

no the cheaper hose does not have the fuel protection lining is my meaning, I cannot remember the actual length needed now for the filler do you have your old hose still? isn't it something like 300mm or so?

yeah i wouldn't think it is in contact that much, they do say about the fuel vapour contaminating it too as to why it has the protection.. ?

although as it has been two years since i did mine and just looking at their picture again it seems a little longer than i remember, might be worth calling them and asking for the length of that part? see if they have changed it, but it does say 72> ? :?

but i still have excess from the metre i bought, so i could probably do you a section at say £10 posted if you wanted to try that?

Ah right, thanks for explaining.

I was going to call them, but then saw tomedwar72's post. Think I will go with that instead. Cheaper anyway.

Also, cheers for the offer of an off-cut, if the one from CBS doesn't work out, I'll probably take it :msn4:

Isnt it just no. 26 you need

I thought so to start with, but it seems too should and is listed as 72>.

I think I would have to call them to confirm. :|

I've tried this stuff. Once I had it in my hand, due to the spiral design, I wasn't convinced it would seal properly with a clamp so I chucked it. :(

Hmm, I was wondering about that spiral 'ridge' in it and how a clip would go on.

Would the ridge just squash when you start winding the clip up? :?:

x2,I use it on heaters or air but not fluid with that ridge, defo not fuel.The ID needs to be perfectly smooth so it will seal when pinched by the jubilee clip.

Okay, cheers guys, I'll give the 'ribbed' one a miss :lol: ;) :roll: :D

The Merlin link shows a smoothwall internal liner with convoluted outer

Would that one be better then? :?
