Knut`s 72 westy resto

Hi
Want to show my new camper. Its a 72 westfalia, pics are taken on the barn were its stored.
Its quite complete and need welding in channels and rear wings.
I will start work im the middle of next week if it stops snowing

Can't wait to see the progress on this, its looks quite rough cosmetically so it should be a massive improvement once you've worked on it!

hopefully i start on wednesday.
Will try to clean it up a little before i pick it apart. Looks like the red paint is brushed on :?

Thursday evening i finally got the camper into my workshop. Friday and saturday were spent stripping the car, ca 10 hours.
A few surprises but nothing serious. Its a nice car
I have been reading some of the threads here and im shocked over all the rust they fix :shock:

Today i repaired middle channel/ sliding door channel and welded it back on.




The sliding door fitted and ran nice. Just the outer channel left to do.
And some small patches on this side.

Year of the bays its about time

Not much has been done during the last week. Just disassembled the front suspension, taken out the engine and done some small welding.

What wheels are they?
What plans do you have, a back to stock resto or a custom jobby?

They are from a nassin patrol. Most for fun.
Its going to be a near original restoration, maybe some custom touches

Floor on drivers side is done inkl. strenghtner plate underneath.
