Steam cleaner on canvas?

Has anyone steam cleaned their canvas pop top?

Am thinking I might be able to remove some of the mould that tends to build up this time of year.

I'd have thought any sort of pressurised cleaning will remove any waterproofing it has, so would probably need treating again afterwards.

Apart from that, steam cleaners are awesome for a bit of deep clean freshness.

Depending on your canvas type, you could use AutoGlym's caravan and boat cleaner, or use their Cabriolet kit. I can vouch for both. Like I say, depends on your canvas type. Have a look at the guides on AutoGlym's website.

Well if it works on upholstery then a can't see any reason why it would not work on canvas.

The mould has set in and I am afraid it may be permanent.

I have a friend who is going to let me try his steam cleaner so I will update soon.

Once I tried it with Bissel Vac & Steam. It is very efficient and easy to use.

Hiya bud, is it a plastic type of canvas ? Just be prepared to move it quickly as it might just get too hot. Just a thought but I got a wallpaper steamer that would muller that mould but I don`t know if it would be too butch. Got a floor steamer too and that`s great on floors and stuff.
