oil pressure switch re location

im looking at an engine at the mo thats had the oil pressure switch hole welded up.

would it be possible to relocate the switch?not sure how the switch works so this could be a daft question

Is it possible to redrill and tap,drilled and tapped one to 1/4 bsp a few years ago and had a brass fitting made to take back size for switch.The end of the gallery was drilled out for full flow so as it was getting drilled blew air down the gallery to get rid of swarf.It worked but could have just been lucky.Might have still got a couple of adapters left.
