How long should a starter last with just a radio on? I have a Retrosounds radio and had it on for a couple of hours which seems to have run down the battery, lights very dim and radio not turning on anymore. Not a big issue but need to be mindful of it for camping.

TBH, a couple of hours isn't unusual. Might be time to start looking at running it off a leisure battery :)

It all depends on how many amps the unit draws, how many amp/hours (how big) your battery is and in how good condition it is.

If your sound system is draining your battery in a couple of hours then it either draws a whole heap of amps or you battery is well past its best.

I'm using a Retrosounds Model Two, not sure what the A/h is and likewise, not sure what the battery size is or when it went on the bus, it's a professional 60 series.
Going to swap it over to the leisure battery anyway and then possibly get a new starter too.
