Hi.

Wondering if anybody could offer some advice. On reinstalling my engine I am finding that the lower pulley is not turning freely with the new fanbelt installed. Could this mean I've over tightened the fanbelt or has the crankshaft/flywheel been misaligned when the engine was installed. The mating between the gearbox and flywheel is flush. Is there a check i could do to ensure the engine and gearbox/flywheel are aligned before I fire it up for the first time? I'm scared of wrecking my engine if I just go ahead and fire it as it's been out the bus for 9 months whilst being restored.

Cheers for any advice.

Chris.

pop the fanbelt off and see how it feels :) You should be able to feel two "tight" spots per crankshaft pulley revolution. Is there any noise when you try to turn the pulley?
