    Parts Wanted Devon Bed

Hi all. I’m looking for a bed for a 1969 Devon Tourvette. I think other Devon models around the same time (Eurovette etc.) had the same bed. Specifically, I’m looking for the part that sits on top of the parcel shelf that has draws which open up to the rear and the bed support which slides out...

Ahh ok. Thanks for clarifying. It’s a camper so I’ll need no. 23. If you can let me know if you have the right part after the weekend, that would be great.

Removing engine bay bulkhead / firewall

Hi everyone, A pretty basic question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere... How do I remove the engine bay bulkhead / firewall? I have taken the screws out from the sides and bent back the clips at the top but can't get it to budge. It appears to be stuck fast along the bottom edge -...

    Engine Upgrade Advice

Hi everyone, I’m hoping for a bit of advice on upgrading/overhauling my engine. Currently it’s a standard 1600 single port with a Solex PICT 30-2 carb and has done just under 80,000 miles. I’ve stripped the engine down to the crank case and taken off the cylinder heads, pistons, barrels and...

    Paul's 1969 Devon Torvette

Hello again everyone, So, to say it’s been a while since I last posted on this thread is an understatement! The last four years have been pretty busy for me, but the restoration has been plodding along at a very relaxed pace. I’ve now set aside some good chunks of time to work on the camper so...

    Blaupunkt Emden Radio Install

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could help me out with installing a Blaupunkt Emden radio in my 1969 bay. I've searched through a few installation guides and wiring diagrams but still haven't got much of a clue how to wire it up. Looking at the back of the headunit there are two speaker...

    More Leisure Battery Questions

Hi guys, Thanks for the advice. I was only joking about the girlfriend plugging in the hairdryer although I would never be 100% sure she wouldn'gt give it a go. I've done some research on the inverter front and think I've got it sussed now. The wattage drawn from the battery can be calculated...

    More Leisure Battery Questions

Hi everyone, I have a couple of leisure battery questions and would very much appreciate any helpful info anyone can give me. I'm planning on installing a 110Ah battery on the left side of the engine bay, underneath the spare wheel well. People have mentioned Lucas and Elecsol batteries on...

Insurance for an off the road bay

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up going for a limited mileage policy with 2gether insurance (http://www.2getherinsurance.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). They seem to provide good cover at a reasonable price. Cheers Paul

Insurance for an off the road bay

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew much about getting insurance for a camper that is off the road. I've just got mine back from welding and spraying (pics to be uploaded soon) but I won't be able to get it on the road for a few months yet. I would still like to have some insurance cover on...

    early bay rear bumper

Hi Pete, how ratty were you thinking? I took this bumper off my 69 Devon Tourvette. It's very rusty on both corners, it's got about 2-3mm of paint on it and some odd bits of filler as well. You can have it for £15 + postage if you fancy it. Cheers Paul
