Hey,

Not sure yet, but testing the water.

Would anyone be interested?

VW MK1 Golf GTi Cabrio 8v.
Metallic Black
1991 H Plate
HPI Clear
109k miles (Average of 4,700 a year roughly).
10 Months MOT (1 advisory for exhaust rubber mount loose - now done).
3 Months Tax.

Brief Spec (all new work mentioned done in last 3 years) -

Absolute folder full of old VW bills, MOTS, tax discs, other bills etc from last 10-15 years. Previous owners were part of Thames Valley VW Club.
Originally a Company Car - so had lots of service carried out at VW.
MFA (computer) works fully
H&R Cup kit (30-40mm drop) springs and shockers. Tracking, Camber etc all re-done too afterwards.
Full OEM suspension bushes, Febi front top mounts, OEM cone upper bushes for rear shocker housing etc.
New Febi front wishbones and bushes.
New Febi ARB bushes.
New upper and lower OMP strut braces - tightens front end up.
4-1 Hot Tuning s/steel manifold - full wrapped in heat tape.
New mild steel full Jetex exhaust system (picked this as looks nice, but sounds more sensible).
New Cambelt, aux belt, Quantum oil and OEM filters - fuel, air and oil.
Rebuilt top end with new valve stem seals and piston rings (got old ones to prove - no smoke at all).
Very good condition 15" Rivage Le Castellet alloys with new Toyo TR1 Proxes on all 4 (still got chalk lines on them).
New crosshair single headlights.
One piece de-badged grill.
Grill spoiler.
Electric roof (recent mohair re-cover done before i bought it)
Electric windows.
Alpine Head Unit (high end one, cant remember model - single DIN) - with Ipod lead built into glovebox
Alpine 4x6 rear components built into original housing/covers.
Kenwood front components built into original housing with seperate tweeters.
New Bosch Silver battery.
S/steel upper rad brackets
Goodridge braided hoses all round.
New rear brake lines
New front calipers last year.
New EBC Green Stuff pads last year.
New EBC slotted discs last.
Clear/red rear lenses to rear.
Solid chassis - no rust below at all.
Solid body -no rust apart from small bit (see below).

Bits to improve-

Paintwork good, but has a few scratches and marks. Not by me, but left as it - means I can use it without being too precious over it.
One small bit of rust below windscreen. Will fix easily enough. Not structural, just needs rubbing down, fill and paint.
Few small bubbles on leading edge of bonnet from stone chips. Not come through and not really stick-out noticeable.
Odd scuff mark on bumpers etc.

Possilbly making it sound worse than it is, but trying to be honest. It didn't put me off buying it, as I say, it means it can be used daily for shopping etc without worry (although i only use it in the summer). It's left on a spare set of alloys wheels over the winter, so no flat spots occur on tyres. I'll include this spare set for free. Tread is good on these too.

Looking at maybe £2,750 ono. 10 months mot 3 months tax.

Stacks of history and old mots from last 15 years. Had full dealer history for quite a while.

Like I say, not desperate, just mulling around with thoughts. I guess like anything, right money offered and it makes it more tempting.

Added pic above, I'll look for some more now.

None with rust on - will have to take some.

It's been well looked after. I've had it 3.5 years, done about 2k miles. Currently reads 109k.

Insurance fully comp with mods (which are subtle) is about 180 a year for me.

Thing for me, was get the running gear, brakes and engine mint. Which it is. Bodywork is fine, does have some scratches and marks though (all touched up).

It has had a full respray at some point.

Further images added.

Will have to take images of rusty bit if you are still interested.

It's garaged 24/7 in my wife's Grandmas garage, so would have to pop through to do.

Everything works as should.

It's 23 years old now, and still turns people's heads.

Engine is 1.8 DX 8 valve. 5spd box.

Let me know either way.
