Hi All,

Don't suppose anyone knows what the colour name or code is for the biege colour paint applied to the inner rear posts, window surrounds, floor etc of my Danbury camper?

It's a 72 crossover, Neptune blue on the outside and inside at the front back to the B posts and seat bulkhead panels, however the rear has been overpainted with a flat/satin biege colour and I'm certain this was done from new - either by the factory or by Danbury as part of the conversion?

If there is no official info on this has anyone ever found a close match?

Cheers

L275 Light Beige was painted in cargo area of kombi / panel vans at the (VW) factory. It is a satin looking finish.

I was trying to find out something similar for my Dormobile interior colour (with no luck so far) mines a satin light grey which at first I thought was VW applied, but further investigation has revealed that ther is beige underneath the grey. The Transporter Spec book is where I confirmed that this beige is L275.

Hope this helps, maybe a Danbury expert will come up with the colour

Good Luck

Hi All,

Just found the following on TheSamba which lists two possible colours for the interior cargo area - confirming Light Biege - L275 as mentioned by Fortunate Son (thanks) and also Ivory - L567.

Pretty sure mine is the Light Biege, but for any of you that haven't seen the info on The Samba, it is well worth a look.

Hello Dan :D

I've dug my book out, and I can only find the one colour at the momment, and that agrees with what Fortunate Son says, L275 Light Beige.

I think I remember seeing a pic of your van's interior at some stage, and it did remind me of my folks' bus, which was also a crossover Danbury.

Here is an interior pic I took of my folks' van, which we had from new. Not very good quality I'm afraid, as it was taken 20 years ago, just before we sold it! :)

Hi Doug,

Thanks very much for checking and the picture is great too..... reminds me of exactly how mine was when I first bought it! :D

Pretty sure that the interior paint colour of mine is L275 Light Biege... although the next challenge now is to try an find details of the mixing formular so that I can get some made up.

I checked on the Glasurit website but no luck!

Does anyone know this or where it might be listed? :?

Many thanks!

Just to wrap this up.
I recently spoke with the guys at the following company http://www.martinbrownpaints.net. They were very helpful and when I explained that I needed L275 Light Beige but in a satin finish, they did some investigations and told me that they would do their best to get as close as possible colour match and mix some up. I received a couple aerosols earlier this week and tested them on an inconspicuous area and once dried the match was perfect.

So L275 it is... and now I have some to refresh a few worn areas/edges.... excellent! :D
