I wonder if it makes a difference that your beam mounts on what would be the lower holes of the beam on Sparkys. These holes look further forward in the pictures.

Put the bus up on stands where the main chassis leg meets the front outrigger so the beam is free, loosen the eccentric nuts, stick a lever bar between the beam tubes and lever the top tube of the beam towards the rear of the bus.
