fitted the clocks back in the bus today, everything works except for the fuel gauge.

the bus has next to no fuel in it, when i turn the ignition to the 2nd position the fuel gauge goes from empty to full instantly and stays there, i have not touched the sender unit whilst restoring my van and everything worked fine before i took the clocks out, any ideas where to start looking

cheers

The sender is simply a float that acts a resistor for the gauge if I remember correctly dude, It's probably siezed.

Maybe try tapping it on the top.

The sender acts as the earth path, so you've got a short to earth somewhere for it to register full.

I'd check the guage connections first. :)

yeah so would i  your telling me in a nice way i made a boo boo

I had the same thing happen to me and as said above it was a bad earth connection on the gauge,
