Hi,

planning on a selling the van in the new year, about 12 months ago I pulled out the temporary interior I'd put in a few years ago with the intention of investing in a very nice one,

that was last year before I moved house and spending £3k on the interior has gone out the window! - have looked at cheaper interiors but still would need to spend a grand at least..

The van's in great shape and wondering what impact having an interior vs blank canvas would have? there's the plus side that it's ready for someone to put in what suits them, versus the negative that it's not ready to camp

I'm loathed to spend the money on something cheap that will firstly look naff, and secondly may or may not add negligible value...

So I'm pondering and can't decide.. will it make a massive difference to the value?

On value, I've also no idea, but was hoping for something in the £12k region .. Just not sure if I need to whack an interior in it to get that or not...

Thanks!

Lard

I'd sell as is. Most people have specific requirements, me included. As long as the price is right then it won't scare anyone off, it will probably appeal to a wider market as they can do what they want.
Good luck with sale whatever you choose to do, it looks like a lovely bus.

You'll halve the market who will buy it as there are a lot of people who want a complete van ready to go, but I wouldnt let that put you off really. I would say a mostly complete Westy interior would be valued about £1500 so you can adjust your price by 'about' that much.
Id advertise it and maybe keep your eye out for any Westy trims parts in the meantime and if you have the cash/time/inclination you could fit some ineterior and increase the desirability/price as you go.

I agree with Clem, most new buyers are looking for vans ready to go without doing anything to them and you will potentially put those buyers off without an interior.

It's a very fical market and anything that will help with the sale is always good.

Ps I think your £12k is a bit low so may be worth finding a cheap westy interior, there was one for sale recently at £650.

Happy to advertise it for you via my FB page as I know the bus :D

Id hold on a bit and build it back into what it is, (A true Westfalia) pick up bits as they become available and sell at the beginning of summer..... for maybe £16000+. 8)

Very nice bus, try not to rush if poss!?

Paul.
:D

I would definitely put some kind of interior back in, most people want a bus they can use straight away and change to their own taste as time and funds allow. Selling without any interior will rule-out quite a few potential buyers. Nice bus though...

I agree with the four immediately above. People like to have it ready to roll, if they want to make changes, that`s fine and they maybe will, but they like to see a finished product even if they do want to change it. The ones that would appreciate a blank interior are possibly existing or previous owners and they have a little more insider knowledge. The new peeps and the new `money` wants to buy something to get in (and look cool) 8) and go. Finish it if you can and don`t forget to tell the punters, exactly what a desireable and rare and valuable interior that you have, and how much they might get for it if they were to modernise the interior to their taste, so they could probably change the interior and possibly have some change  If you`ll excuse the pun

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Finish it,,, or pretend it`s finished somehow

I'd have to agree with all the comments above.
I was selling a microbus earlier this year and struggled for 9k. I stuck a 500 quid westy interior in and sold it for over 12k.

Thanks all for the responses! I think the best plan would be to put a westy interior in and get it ready

Thanks Graham for the offer! Will certainly take you up on it

Will keep my eyes open for a used interior!

Thanks all
