Just wanted to let you all know of an event I'm putting on in Croyde , North Devon on 29th May 2011.
The idea is to have a chilled out day by the beach in our Dubs & classic Porsche's, there will be just a couple of food vendors, just a couple of local VW specialists & then invite a couple of chilled out singers, performimg accoustic numbers while those that want to sit on there picnic blankets or hay bales, sun bathing & listening, but all very non invasive. We plan to be open from 8am till 8pm, so you can catch an early surf & chill out at at the end of the day with a BBQ (Bring your own).

THE BIG IDEA IS CHILL, by one of the best beaches for surfing , sun bathing, a great day out with the family, surrounded by some superb motors.

A subject unfortunately close to alot of us is Cancer, last year my best mates wife Nikky was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, she has had an operation , which was successful, but now has to go through chemo, with this in mind , I wanted to raise money for "Force" http://www.forcecancercharity.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , who support not only the person with the illness but equally important & in need of answers & support, the family.
I want to try to get a full selection of models parked together, just for something different , for example

T5
T4
T25
Late Bay
Early Bay
Split
Barndoor
Beetle Convertible
Beetle Saloon
Baja
Beach Buggy
Squareback
Notchback
Fastback
T34 Ghia
Ghia
Trekker
shout if I've forgotten anything

As most car parks in the area will charge £6 ish per day, so I think £10 per vehicle would be really good value to park in the location below together with some Awesome motors, good company & a few extras
the idea is that all people that want to attend will email me to register ( [email protected] ) & within a day or two the bank account will be ready & then I'll do the same as Dubs at the Beach in Paignton & ask for everyone to pay their entrance by PayPal as we are limited on numbers that we can fit in & I don't want people to travel , only to be turned away.
It will also make entering quicker & easier causing less congestion, so please email me asap so I can let you guys know first when the Pay Pal is ready.

So hopefully everyone else will think its a cool idea too, I'm working at the Facebook page as we speak & thank you to those who have registered, can you please log on search for "Big Sunday" in attractions/things to do & tick you like, if we can get 25 fans we can get a proper address,

Heres the location 8)

We're limited to around 150 motors & don't want anyone to miss this, we've finally got the paypal sorted, so if you can paypal your entrance fee of £10 to [email protected] and mark as a gift, then email me a picture of your motor with the registration & how many wrist bands you need, we will then email you your pass & have your wrist bands ready for collection at the gate on the day,
Cheers Bob.

Hi Bob,

You have funds! Think Linda may be working that day, so may have to collect her at sometime during the day, is it ok to come and go?

Cheers!

Alistair

Thank you to everyone who came down to Big Sunday yesterday, although the weather wasn't as bright as we would have liked at least it wasn't pouring. I learnt a few lessons for the next one , but over all for the first attempt I was pleased.
I'd like to say thankyou to Ian from Southwest VW's, for putting on his show & then bringing not only the cruise but the T34 Razor over . I'd also like to say a massive thankyou to Buzz for agreeing to bring his OCD tour of 30 Splitty's into our show, it really was a stunning sight & lots of people commented how much they loved that part. I was chuffed that so many people came from miles away, with some truly Awesome motors.
We are sorting out the winners of the two awards & exactly how much we've raised for Force charity, so an update will follow really soon.
I would like to thank those that offered to help & to Cobraman who arrived really early & showed us how to put up the mini marque but mostly I couldn't have done it without Jamie, Jonse & Gary who worked from 6am till 8pm with barely a break, also to Nicky & Jaz for working all day so hard again without a break . But mostly my misses Trina, not only for working as the rest of our little team from early till late with barely time to stop but for helping me put it together & putting up with me often working till the early hours getting everything sorted.
Thank you all once again & please don't forget to post your pictures please. 8)
