So I have 2 inch dropped spindles, a four inch narrowed adj. beam and 3.5 inch drop plates in the back. 185/55x15 and 185/65 tires. I assume it`s a Hurst copy in which case it doe`s not use the reverse lockout plate at all.

I was fed up with overpriced and cracked reservoirs so I eliminated the upper and lower reservoirs and the line in between completely. I mounted a rectangular late Bug one under the drivers seat (My 68 is a walk thru) with an oval hole underneath. Got two nipples from a late Bug master cylinder...

After an attempt at buying an overpriced and supposedly good original one I made a small bracket to fit a later repro in the same place as my original(And having it leak all over the floor). I trashed the entire setup. Got rid of the upper and lower res. and pipe and mounted a late model Bug one...

I had almost as bad of a situation on the 1600 I ran in my bus for a couple years. There was still threads left in the case but not much. I tapped the holes as far as I could, used longer bolts and an adapter with no leaks at all. Worked just fine.

I did`nt even know such a thing exsisted. I guess the one on my 68 is long gone then. How about using a short piece of rubber hose?
