    Camper

I have passed my camper on to my Daughter and Son in law as a gift, it is in safe hands. I have owned the bus for at least 25 yrs and have enjoyed every minute of it, but time marches on , and I have found at the age of nearly 83 that jobs that need doing are becoming progressively harder. May I...

    Timing

Sorted, many thanks for your replies, helped me get into the mindset to sort it. Checked all pipes first then checked fuel was getting to the carb , and then checked for spark. No spark so checked I had feed to the coil yes, guess what it was that pesky condenser had new one in the bus and away...

    Timing

Have just renewed all petrol pipes. had to have the distributor out to get to pipes on the pump, now engine not starting, was sure I replaced it as it was but if not could it be just 180 out had noted position of timing on dizzy and marks on mounting plate. With the drive being offset is this...

Fitted Power Steering - What a difference!

Finally got it sorted. Must have repaired first fault but introduced another by mistakenly removing torque sensor. After many phone calls with Neil at lite steer he talked me through what I had to do to balance it, and eureka it was fixed. Now understand a lot more of how it works, Thanks Neil

Fitted Power Steering - What a difference!

I feel I must now bring this up to date, my lite steer power steering has been brilliant up until the back of last week, it has now failed me after just over 2 yrs, must be just about a month out of guarantee . Rang up lite steer was asked to check for dampness in the ecu, completely dry, was...

    wing mirrors

Just an update, got glass on ebay stuck it to the old mirror, filled it slightly with ordinary putty, would have used a product called sealastic but as far as I can see is unavailable, a great sealant no longer on the market, I don't like silicone products find them hard to work with, you can't...

Fuel sender location? Where to drill

Hi it's many years since I did it, I think it was dead on the centre line of the vehicle, your unit looks about right back to front. How abut drilling a large hole where the centre line of the hatch would go and shine a torch to see where you are. The tank is quite close so fit a depth...

    wing mirrors

Hi is it possible to replace the glass in original wing mirrors, and if it is where can I get the glass from, and how do I replace them, the old ones are better than new. Thanks Mike

Fitted Power Steering - What a difference!

Had the Lite-steer version fitted to mine about a month ago, very expensive but what a piece of kit. It has completely transformed the bus, the steering is now lighter than my modern day car with power steering, it is a complete pleasure to drive, it was before, but this is awesome.

    Lighting Switch

Many thanks I thought I had cracked it, being a 1972 I expect it should have ignition switched headlamps but that compromise will do for me . Many thanks for confirming what I had found.

    Lighting Switch

Hi all I think I may have solved it. 30 is definitely the live, the first pull of the switch makes 58 the sidelight switch on. If a jump lead is made between 58 and X which is normally live with ignition switched on, then on the second pull 56 is also fed for headlights, or could I run a jump...
