fibre isolating washer/spacer for fuel gauge wire to dash?

Yes but I couldn’t get a good enough grip with the little pegs due to the hole not a slit. Looking around on google images though I saw that the later vans have a bolt connection so now I’m thinking it will be easier and safer to do similar.

fibre isolating washer/spacer for fuel gauge wire to dash?

bit of a longshot but does anyone know if it is possible to get the fibre washer/disc with a splt in (i have no idea what its called) that isolates the fuel gauges connecting plugs from the metal dash frame? one of mine disintegrated and caused a short that burnt out the wire, very scary with...

window seal supplier recommendations please for a '71 microbus?

i'm hoping that there will be a few deals around in january so i can get a little discount on window seals for my van, LHD '71 microbus deluxe. i can see that all the normal places, justkampers, schofields etc, do them, but are any of them considered better in terms of quality and important fit...

    71 bay lowering

i would retort that it makes them look like tonka toys, but having just spent at least 3 days squeezed under my lowered bus on a sloping driveway trying to figure out my starter issue tonka toy seems appealing right now.

I'm looking to install a new headliner in my '71 microbus and apparently Volkswagen Camper & Commercial, Issue 37, September & October 2008, has a how to article about the job. Does anyone have an old copy I could buy, or could anyone scan me the article? Thanks

    Interior panels

If you want just the wood look I personally would use marine ply, the more you pay the better it will be and some of the good stuff has beautiful grain. The bonus is its waterproof and is not affected by damp spots, birch ply particularly is awful for that. For finish it can simply be oiled, or...

72 crossover bay fuel gauge reads full all the time

Unrelated but similar for what it's worth... I just had an earth prob (huge cloud of smoke out the dash as I'm driving along) and it was the black wire that runs from the fuse box and earths on the speedo housing. What caused the meltdown was the earth connection to the fuel guage, there is a...

Wire (indicator light) meltdown behind dash?

turned out, after some looking, it was the earth wire that runs from the fuse box to the metal surround of the speedo housing that had melted. after replacing all of that, and cleaning up some badly bodged connections, it was ok for a sec then suddenly the fuel gauge freaked out and there was a...
