Regarding cutting the hole I would use a jigsaw every time but don’t use a course blade finer the better. Might help to cover the area in masking tape so you can clearly see the line to cut to, drill a hole first slightly bigger than the blade close to the inside of the line you have marked. If...

Thanks for all the feedback early bayers! Took delivery of my cab mat from Heritage haven't fitted it as yet but have to say the quality and look is very impressive damn weighty as well which must mean it will lay well, should have it in over the weekend cab's looking tidy and a nice place to be!
