Mine has the coilovers but this has bent the lower control arm stud. The coilovers were lifting the bus but this means more load on that stud.

Thanks Graham, really appreciated. All notes taken. Living in perpetual fear until there is time and money to replace. Until then, make it better but live in fear.

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

I like this approach! I need the van for June so I’m nervous! My ball joint splitter was too small so I procrastinated too much. How would one separate the lower joints? I don’t mind buying a tool if it works well even for one job.

I had to put it back together as it was and take stock from there

I think they are dropped spindles and also the ball joints are reversed. I’m going to do some phoning about tomorrow to see if I can find someone to help me with a new beam and sort it out.

They must’ve lowered it by just adjusting the bottom adjuster so clearly explains quiet Road so wobbly and dove through its suspension

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

Okay, so under the van today first time this week I’ve been able to, and it looks like I could have some problems with my bottom adjuster. The bolt has ground away and so has a bit of the adjuster and it looks like it’s running about 5 to 6 notches Upwards while the top adjuster is as high as it...

Parts Wanted Continental Roof Bed wanted

I think some camping carry mat foam would be best and bring extra padding.

Parts Wanted Continental Roof Bed wanted

I used some marine bench foam. I think it was 1inch. Originally I tried 2” and it was too thick. The pillow section I left thicker as it’s more comfortable. (Also didn’t want to unpick it). It still makes closing a little harder and could have been mm thinner but I’ll cope for now.

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

I think mine is an original beam that has been narrowed and adjusters fitted. I’ve no experience in. Recognising the spindle type. Lots has been done though and it looks to be high quality. Hubs are custom drilled for Porsche 5 stud. I’d better start gathering the tools and putting the bay up...

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

Thanks everyone, looks as though this is going to be painful. Still, no van until it’s done! I rather take it somewhere to get done but know of nowhere local.

I found this which makes it a little more understandable to me. When he does the top adjuster, he says that it should be done differently. What is he missing in his process?

How do you know how far to turn them?
