I want to sort the sound out in my van. Not going over the top just need decent sound. I was thinking of an amplifier and changing my speakers. I understand 2 way 4 way amps. Seen a Pioneer one on Amazon for £60. As I say not after top end just better sound. Where are people fitting their amplifiers and is it worth fitting one. Your are answering someone who lives in the dark ages when it comes to this stuff by the way. Cheers

I didn't want to cut speaker holes or chop the dash for a modern head unit, so came up with a solution that is removable from the van. I haven't updated the thread, but it is now running a separate bluetooth module so that we can whack some Spotify on.

Yes that is right, generally because the current draw of an external amp is far greater than any of the existing loom wiring could handle. Just make sure that the wire is appropriately fused!
