Sliding door front inner lock mechanism

Hi all. Is there any info diagrams on how to rebuild a sliding door mechanism I had to take off the back plate to make a repair to one of the levers. Now after getting all back together. Somethings not right. When turning the handle down the top part of the catch moves inwards but the latch part doesn’t move. Can anyone shed any light or should I just try to get hold of another mechanism 🤔
 
I gave up on trying to repair mine.

LHD mechanisms are more common than RHD ones so it can be difficult to get hold of the latter.

I think VWEd once said that there were 12 different ones in all, covering LHD, RHD, Early, Late & panel.
 
Tell me about it. It’s been driving me bonkers. Although I think I’ve cracked tonight. I’ll know for sure tomoz when I put the back mech in. Keeping everything crossed hehe
