Rebuild or not?

So, engine ran too lean for a bit and then, to really see it off, over revved it and dropped a valve seat.
Here’s the damage...

No sign of any white metal in the oil and the bore is clean.

Do I;

Get new heads?
Rebuild existing heads?
Rebuild the entire engine?
Or something else?

Love to hear what you guys suggest.

Fix head, screw it back together,take it steady for a couple of days , then :shock: :? :shock:

Ozziedog,,,,,, drive it,,, or drive it like you stole it :mrgreen:
 
I lost a valve stem seal on my old aircooled lump, it destroyed a piston and a cylinder head.
The engine was pulled apart just enough to replace all 4 pistons and both cylinder heads after the replacement items were degreased, valves lapped in and cleaned. Day after the engine failure I was rolling again and drove to Spa! Was an emotional couple of days!
 
Any decent machine shops in the Northwest that could be recommended to refurb cylinder heads?

If you take it to a local garage that works on air cooled stuff, so long as it’s just a valve seat, it can’t be a heck of a lot of work. Try on here for recomends but also try on the late bay , as I know they got a few good peeps up in the northeast.
