Well they're layers, so it's an epdm straw with two PA straws over it, with another epdm straw over all of that. The PA is just for strength- the rubber brake hoses between the master cylinder and wheels would blow up like a balloon without it I believe- certainly wouldn't want to test it. There's up to 2000PSI in the lines from your master cylinder to the wheels- hence the absence of compression fittings & hose clamps etc. They'd just blow off.

The low pressure hose from reservoir to master cylinder doesn't need it though as they're not under pressure- they just fill the master cylinder up- so straight EPDM hose is fine for that

Thanks! I will be happy to use EPDM now, although, I do have an original one on Back Order :lol: :?

I bought the proper clear pipe from C&C and it doesn't fit a 72 cross, its too short so i opted for epdm and jubilees a couple of years ago. No leaks no probs.

I can attest to this, our rubber collar at the top was mushy and exploded in my face when trying a pressure bleed. luckily I wear glasses. I had to reengineer the connection with components I had around the place as "the rubbers were were beyond their useful life"

I got one from C&C but turned out to be the shorter one for under the seat reservoir. I used EPDM hose from Advanced Fluid Solutions as they say it's good for brake fluid that's not under pressure. They are experts and sell 100% biofuel hose too. It's been on a couple of years with no issue at all. The only thing i would add next time is some Copex convoluted conduit to protect from debris and the weather. This can be pulled back to inspect the ends.
Use correctly sized 'Oetiker' clips or small 'ABA' fuel hose type clamps as Jubilee/worm drive clips are never quite round when in small sizes and can cause a leak, damage the hose or crush the plastic spigots. Also, if you underseal then mask any hoses beforehand. Its usually spirit based and won't do the rubber any good.
