Help fitting rear bumper splash guards

Today I unbolted the rear corner mounting bolts the hold the rear bumper splash guards to the lower rear corners .But now I want to refit them I'm having trouble trying to get a spanner in between the bumper and the van body.Are you supposed to fit the splash guards and bumper irons first then bolt the bumper to the irons and splash guards ?
Any help would be great .
 
When I refitted my bumper it had the splash pans attached, then the bolts that attached to the
body fitted in the fitted holes and held fast. Thus easier to get spanner under body and not between.
If you get what I mean :lol: :lol:

Agreed, it's much easier to attach the brackets and guards to the bumper before putting the bumper assembly on.
