Sorry mate! Couldn't resist!

Ex RAF here too. 22 years L Tech TC initially. Now a civilian Air Traffic Engineer. You know, the ones on the airport that no one knows anything about. The ones that make sure all the nerdy stuff that points the aircraft to the runway still works.

Left school at 16 and started as an apprentice HGV & heavy plant mechanic at the local council, was there 10 years. Left there to be a mechanic & lorry driver at the local quarry which I loved. Got to work on some awesome machines and had my own 500hp V8 Mercedes Actros 8 wheeler which i got to see a lot of the country in but got made redundant. So got a temp job as a mechanic in a local truck garage last month but next month I start at Felixstowe docks as an engineer on all the tractor units, machines and ship to shore cranes :D Always wanted to work there there since I was a kid so well chuffed

Technical Manager for a company that supplies all the supermarkets with apples and pears. I am responsible for Waitrose, so I have to travel around to make sure they are the best quality, ethically sourced, produced sustainably, etc, also get to work on innovation and creating new varieties, like www.jazzapple.com which is a Braeburn crossed with a Royal Gala. Get paid to see the world which is great :D , but spend around 10 weeks a year away from the family, which isn't :( . Think "the man from Del Monte", but without the linen suit.
