1968

Available from January 1968, prototypes between September and November 1967, first serial Westfalia were built in December 1967 with first delivery and registration in January 1968, furniture with “Schweizer Birnbaum” (Swiss pear tree) color and wood-design (plastic veneer) available roofs:

- new big pop up fiberglass roof with roof rack based on sunroof bay type 23, standard for US-Campers

- small pop up fiberglass roof nearly in the middle of the roof, not based on sunroof bay!

- big Dormobile roof, mounted in a position different to original british Dormobile Camper, mounted nearly in the middle of the bus roof

SO 60 like former SO 42 of splitty, only walkthrough

SO 61 like former SO 45 “Mosaik” kit parts

SO 62 like former SO 44 of splitty, non walkthrough



1969 New and big range of interiors, different combinations of the known Westfalia camping parts, new SO-Numbers and – at first time – European city-names for the interiors

1970 no new Camper and interiors-designs

1971 at first no new Camper and interior designs from about February 1971 new Campers where delivered instead of SO 69-Versions;
