I'd be interested in a group buy,but would like some detail on reception capabilities, particularly in a container!!!
also just wondering how interested the old bill would be if you give them the details based on this technology.

thats a worry, i don't even lock mine, don't think all the locks work ? i walked into halfaurds when i brought it (march 2009) and asked the 16yr old lad behind the counter if they sold crook locks ? he said, what a crook lock ?

i always think no one will nick that old thing and anyone who knows what its worth must be into them, as in no one in the scene would touch it.

plus my bus is really funny to start, i seem to be the only one who can start it and if they did get it started, they would get it wedged on a speedbump or curb, failing that it would brake down within walking distance. There no way it would go on a transporter.

i hate thiefs  they should have there hands cut off the first time they nick anything !

This is so worrying :( how awful would it be to lose the bus after all the work and expense

Been thinking of getting this one ....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TISO-GPS-Vehicle- ... 19b8f3dc3a

seems like a good company and product :)

OK found this one and got a favourable response guys

10 units, unit price is GBP63, total shipping cost is GBP85 by DHL. so £71.50
20 units ,unit price is GBP61,total shipping cost is GBP150 by DHL. so £68.50
30 units, unit price is GBP59,total shipping cost is GBP210 by DHL. so £66.00

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

re the contact/location in a container Q well that depends on so many issues thats why you'll see sensitivity levels in dbm....
no manufacturer in there right mind would even consider stateing that its useable in a container as its the easiest thingin the would to ensure the container is RF screened a simple earth will do it for most.

simply hook it to your fuel cut off (those that bought one that is) wire into an existing alarm etc.....

I could be interested in two of these but always a bit wary about buying cheap electrical items off eBay as I think there is the potential to save a packet as well as the potential to buy something which looks the part but functionally doesn't live up to expectation.

If the supply of these is consistent from the seller (ie they make them) would it be an idea for us to buy 1, someone can test it to check it works as expected and the quality is ok then we could place an order for 20/30 units? The additional cost of ordering one up front can be absorbed by the group buy which would be negligible given the peace of mind that the product is suitable before we hand over £££££'s between us.

If it turns out to be crap then everyone who wants one could put a couple of quid towards the cost of the test unit so that no one individual is out of pocket?

Just a thought....

there will be inmport duties from china, perhaps it would be better to find a uk based one? just a thought, they are all chinese made anyway, probably the same internals, that one looks very neat and alot smaller so would be easier to hide.

just thought I'd mention,I think some may be missing the point....there are a few posts mentioning locks/engine starting - don't forget some of these vans are literally 'picked up' off the street an put onto a wagon. breaking in and starting it is a concern for the opportunist,it that might not such a big issue for the sort of people that are targeting VW busses with a pick up lorry!

I thinks that's the value of the gps tracker, you can be alerted to when the van is on the move and you're not in it!
