Quick question, how best to shift a couple of later layers to get to original paint (uncovering who knows what on the way) what have other people done??

You can do each layer with nitromoors if you are careful and don’t leave it on too long, and scrub with light wire wool/ sponge scrubber.

Takes a lot of hard work to just get one layer at a time, can be worth it if you think of paint still under there / not too much filler. Ours had about five layers of paint over the original and lots of filler. Also keep in mind that original paints would have been lead based so decent gloves are worth it.
