If the seat is there and secure and the seat belt is there and working, having some padding for your arse or not should not affect an mot :mrgreen:

No you do not need a passengers seat to pass MOT. If you do have seat, it must be sercure and fitted with seat belt.

You cannot, nowadays, get around a non-functional seatbelt by removing the seat- so make sure the belt is present and correct.
You may get an advisory for a bloody uncomfortable seat- but that's hardly an issue, is it.
