Taken mine on a few long hauls in Europe, mainly down to the French Atlantic coast (La Rochelle) and the far tip of Brittany. As well as a trip to Austria in December. Every trip she has been pretty much fault free, Austria was in 2001 before i had her restored, I stopped overnight outside Innsbruck in -23 temperature. Of 6 British cars in the car park she was the only one that would start, slowest crank over i've ever heard a petrol engine start on, it hadn't even crossed my mind to change the oil for a lighter grade and it must have been like tar in there. :) Longest run was 11hrs solid bar a refuel from Quimper back to Calais racing the ferry. Look up a POI file for your satnav that has French aires / campsites on, i used to have one and we would just select the nearest when we had had enough driving for the day. We found some amazing places and never had a bad experience, just don't expect a farmer in the middle of nowhere in France to speak any english. Living in Kent its always been quite easy as once off the Ferry it's 20 minutes to home.
