I'm new to this forum and after a long wait I finally got my account activated.

I live in the Netherlans and currently I'm building a Manx clone. I wanted a camper van for some time to spend some more time with my wife and daughter, maybe bring them to meetings and such. I wasn't really looking for one but I did know it had to be a white t2a Westfalia... so much for the plan.

So out of the blue came an opportunity to by a riviera. Since I live in The Netherlands Riviera's don't come around much since everybody here drives westy's.

Anyway, I bought it, but it's my first bus, ever.
I'm still working on my buggy so work will start this winter, but until then I've given myself time to do research an find parts I need.

And most of all, bother all you guys with my dumb bus questions.

So here's some pics.
This is her from the outside - I hope I can peel of the nasty metallic blue en reveal the much nicer Brilliant blue paint, otherwise I need a respray, but I like the patina on the bus.

Interior is almost complete, but I think it's to far gone to save it. I will be using i as a template for the new interior and I will use all the hinges and such.

And my driveway now, the Oval has been sold

Plan (for now)
- Strip interior
- Rebuild front floorpan (with funky green)
- Replace engine
- Rebuild brakes
- Replace all tires
- Replace canvas
- Rebuild interior
- Rebuild exterior
- Drop it
- Drive it

Like I said, I haven't found much specific info on the Rivièra so all links to sites are welcome!

You have a cool bus their! I also have a Riviera with full pop top as yours!!!

Good luck with the rebuild and keep the pics coming!

It's been a while  to much projects, to little time.

Last friday I worked on the bus for a couple of hours, wasn't the hardest job, but still it needed to be done. I dropped the engine (I'm going to replace it since it's a 1300 AB block and I want a reliable engine with some more power) apart from the oil lines fighting me all the way it was quite straight forward.

With 'custom' full flow.

Next up removal of the fuel tank.

I also got the new floor pan and doglegs in from classic fab so now it's time to strip the interior, all US sized bolts. :| , and get welding.
