Well set myself a daft challenge. After being at a local car show on sunday, a local VW guy Bob, showed me his awesome split awning setup, with the bumpers supporting the overall structure. With a local mini show next weekend at Tynemouth, I want to see if I can make something similar in 5 days from scratch. After a quick think, (and thinking what I can source at short notice) Im thinking 4ft broom handles, joined together with metal tube clamps and wing nuts, then using the same ikea fabric I have for curtains for the roof. It doesnt have to be waterproof, purely for the sun. Watch this space! Im gonna just do roof at present. If it works well, Ill do side curtains as well at a later date I should add I work full time 7.30-3.30 and have to look after out little'un till 7pm :D every day
