    37 days to go....

Well if it's any consolation it doesn't feel like 12 years ago since I last posted on this thread!! ;) I could have started afresh but this was a pivotal moment in the van's history with us and it's as close as I've ever come to a 'build' thread on here so I thought I'd resurrect it. With...

    Classic Number Plates

Black & silver pressed plates on a classic vehichle always looks good and +1 for Framptons, they provide a good service. I've noticed increasingly the number plate recognition software used in car parks doesnt recognise the black silver as it looks for dark numerals on a light background. You...

    37 days to go....

It’s been a while since I last updated this thread. There were 37 days to go when I started and a quick Google would suggest ‘ day zreo ‘ was now 4,387 past, which equates to 12 years since the last update. Needless to say a lot has changed over the last decade+ whilst other things have stayed...

    Raising the suspension on adjusters

Out of curiosity, what would the be affect if you deviated from the 3 notch principle? Would 4 notches different effectivley stiffen the suspension and 2 soften it, or is it something simply not to be played with?

    Techenders

Well I'm party to a bit of insider knowledge as Doug is a mate of mine, but as for the clue in the picture I'll hold my hands up and admit I've no idea...

    I do believe I called it, do I win a biscuit? ;)

    Techenders

Yeah I'd missed the obvious, I guess it would be... ;) I was looking at the metallic blue late bay in the first picture, I'm pretty sure Doug's van was an Australian import.

    Techenders

I spotted the van of a friend of mine up there which is an Aussie bay, not sure how you would tell though? It used to have an external door for the gas bottle which I believe was a give away of an Australian camping conversion but he removed it when the van was repainted, beyond that I'm not...

    Parts For Sale Dell’orto 40 DRLA’s

Hi, do you still have these?

Adding lightness (AKA jettisoning unnecessary crap).

I'm the other end of the spectrum with our van having been off the road for two years stripped down to a bare bones. All those useful little things that you accumulate over years of camping have been removed and dispersed so we're back to basics again. I'll start with the essentials, a fistful...

Group buy- Delrin bush for shift rod

Looks like you've already extended beyond 10, but if it still works for carriage I'd take one.

Where could I get one of these from?

I find chandleries are a great place to look when you're after clips, toggles or obscure fixtures and fittings. I'm not from a boating backround and I could tell you what half the items are intended for, but the deck hardware is generally good quality (often stainless stee)l, reasonably priced...

68 Bay - Is there a quality 4 pot alternative to the CSP Delco caliper?

Hi Clem, just dropped you a DM ;)

68 Bay - Is there a quality 4 pot alternative to the CSP Delco caliper?

Thanks Clem, I'm looking to fit something better rather than replace like for like. Out of interest, how did you end up with the spare set of calipers, did you fit something else?

68 Bay - Is there a quality 4 pot alternative to the CSP Delco caliper?

I believe the CSP is the only kit that can be used with a 14" steel wheel, it's the reason I went for CSP at the time. I should add I'm running 15" alloy sprinstars currently so the ability to fit 14" steelies again would be a bonus but it's not the end of the world if I can't. David Slack's...

68 Bay - Is there a quality 4 pot alternative to the CSP Delco caliper?

My 68 bay is fitted with the wide-5 CSP kit suitable for 14" steel wheels and the calipers are both shot with a full rebuild required to get them going again, rather than rebuild the crappy Delco calipers I'd prefer to replace them with a better quality alternative. Willwood seem like a...
