    My New Adventure

Ok, first things first. Got stopped for speeding in the bus yesterday! No, really, I was! 45 in a 30! Policeman kindly asked me to pull over and then advised me I was doing between 40 and 45 in a 30 and asked if I knew I had been speeding through a village. I said "yes", as I clearly had been...

Missed a drive out in Telford last night. Didn't know it was on. Shame, looked good. Went on it a few years ago in a Splitty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My New Adventure

Ok, fitted fireball last weekend. Had electrics sorted today. All done in less than an hour, so £40. Wire loose under dash, to starter motor and fuse not in correctly (too loose). All ready for the hols now. Just need to put some tea, coffee and sugar in bus, ready for stops and brews in bus...

    My New Adventure

Ozziedog, Stuf seems to have his located with the fixings on the frame ABOVE the ball. My bracket only allows for fixings from the SIDE of the frame. Guess they have changed the frame design. Maybe I could get the father in law to hold it when he sits in the back.

Flame ball arrived today. Guess I'll be fitting that over the weekend. Any suggestions for location?

    What's it worth mister?

So, got our bus a couple of weeks ago and I am setting an agreed value with HIC, but not sure what it should be. It is an early bay, of course, and is in pretty good condition. It has a full respray and lots of work done back in 2009, included things like a new tin roof, rubbers, interior, etc...

    My New Adventure

Ozziedog. I had a firetec in my last Splitty but fancy the ball that Stuf has instead. Looks easier to fit/remove too. Hope to get this fitted before the trip to South West Wales. I know we are on the border with Shropshire/Herefordshire/Powys, but this is still going to be a 3 or 4 hour trip...

    My New Adventure

Battery fitted, no problem. Even had a strap to hold it in place, bonus. Power still not getting to stereo, etc. so a bit puzzled. Took bus out for the first family drive since we got it. Hooray! Went via Bishops Castle and Welshpool up to Oswestry to meet some friends. Bus was great. Easily...

    My New Adventure

Ok, today I am going to try to fit the leisure battery, shouldn't be too big a job, but depends if it fits in the current space, etc. That should provide power to the consumer electrical unit already in the bus and hopefully the stereo too. I then have all the wires to fit a cigarette lighter...

    Ply roof template

Excellent. I can ask one of my customers if they can cut some up on their Cnc machine if there is enough interest. Would be good to know if there are any tweaks that you would make to the template before cutting, especially if we cut a few.

    Ply roof template

The wooden template kits look ideal. I will take some time to read through the threads/posts of others and see if I am up to it. The wife quite fancies a wooden roof lining. Ironically, we have a full kit for the interior of a splitty, including roof, in the garage.

He was doing stuff on SSVC years ago. Can't recall his rep. You could look it up over there.

    Ply roof template

Sorry to jump on this thread, but has anyone got a template for the whole roof lining, 71 tintop. Was quoted £500 today for a 'standard' cloth liner today (fitted) and that seemed a bit strong. Happy to pay towards postage/time, etc.

New to EarlyBay ? Say Hi here ...

Thanks for the comments Ozziedog. We bought the bus, as it had undertaken a full resto and paint job a few years ago. It is still in good (not perfect) condition and perfect for our needs. See "Our new adventure" thread. M-Codes confirm it to be a UK bus too!

    My New Adventure

Decoded my M-Plate today, hence now showing. At first it thought it was a bus from Chile. The writing made it look like it said EH, which brings up Chile, but it was EN, i.e. Ramsgate, England. Phew. Good job I had a couple of web sites and books to 'help' me through it. Happy days, looks like...

    My New Adventure

Hi Nick, Was over there last weekend, but not in this (of course, cos I didn't have it then). Regularly drive over that way on my way to Mac, Aberdovey or Towyn. Would be happy to arrange to meet up. Trev

    My New Adventure

Ok, the fun bit begins. Making it ours. Started off by cleaning a load of bird muck off the roof and cleaning the gutters. All cam off fine, no marks left. Not sure whether to put the roof rack off the splitty onto it, or not. Pretty sure it also fits an early bay. Then fitted the buddy seat...
