Evening all, so this afternoon I have changed the points, the rotor arm and dizzy cap. It still won't idle, after changing the rotor arm it idled for a minute or two then cut out. Is it possible there's a problem with it getting air, as I've changed/checked everything to do with the fuel and...

Ok, another update, I have now changed the carb and coil for known good ones and still no change. I can’t think of any other reason why it’ll run when I’m pressing the accelerator but not at idle. Any further thoughts would be welcome!

Ok, thanks for the info I learn a little more each day! If the coil was the fault would it still be able to start and run for a while? it also ran continually with the oversized idle jet I put in?

Is the coil required to continually run the engine? I thought it was just to get it going?

Hi, When I swapped my 009 dizzy with points ignition for an electric ignition SVDA dizzy, with the engine at TDC the new rotor pointed to the 2 o'clock. I rotated the spark plugs round on the dizzy cap and it works fine. Owen

Afternoon all, Not a major issue just wondering if there’s anything I can do to stop this drip seen at the bottom left of the rocker cover, I’ve changed the gasket and cleaned it up but the drip continues. The other side is fine. Has anyone any pointers? Thanks, Owen

Just an update, I've since fitted a Solex 34 Pict 3 carb and it seems to be working fine as in takes the same amount of time to start whether that be cold or hot, fingers crossed!
