I have a 72 crossover (large rear lights) there seems to be no wiring for reversing lights. Do I need them for the mot?

i took mine apart and resprayed them with aerosols its a bit of a pain to take them apart but worth it in the end

Does any one know how to get the old one out have taken out all the screws .the chrome ring around the key slot seems to stop the whole unit coming out from the casing any ideas
