Arguing a Cat B write off?

Glad you've got a partially good outcome and it can be saved from the crusher. :) Unfortunately even if you paid extra for agreed value its still insured at market value until after they've agreed on the value which could take them weeks. I'm still waiting for JK to sort out my agreed...

    Late bay fuel tank

The late bay tank uses a sender that fits in the tank with a bayonet fitting (a bit like a light bulb). The early bay (and late up to mid 73) uses one thats held with 5 screws. Early bay guages won't work with a late bay sender.

    Bass boost

I'm running a sony xplode head unit (4x50W power) in my westy with a pair of 6" 80W speakers in the bottoms of the front doors and another 2 in the overheak locker. Theres enough base to rattle the door and shake the contents of the fridge if i turn it up over 20 on the headunit (and it goes to...

    Different Size Stock Wheels?

There should be a date stamped on them between the bolt holes. I have a selection of wheels on both my bay and T25. A couple of the flower shaped centre ones are date stamped 4/74 (most are 80's though), while the round hole ones are all either 71 or 72.

    Chassis legs

Not certain to be honest. From reading this post on thesamba.com the mountings are slightly different but you could always modify the new late leg to fit the early stryle box. Looks like 3 holes match and just the 4th that needs moving. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7063529...

    Chassis legs

Are you replacing the one the steering box mounts to as the mounting points changed in 1973 for the late steering box (or so i've been told). Not had a chance to see the two chassis rails side by side so can't confirm.

Which ferry route is that on?

    Hessisch

Has anyone booked ferry tickets or campsites or anything yet? Trying to work out if i can afford a European road trip next year. Looks like its about £450 for the ferry from Hull-Rotterdam for 2 with a cabin.

Front seats which to go for?

I ran saab seats in mine but the extra height made driving uncomfortable as my head touched the roof.. Went with MX5 seats in the end which are nearly 3" lower. Speakers in the headrests too if you're that way inclined. Only problem is the drivers seat doesn't quite recline enough due to...

    headlight upgrade

    Thats pretty much the same system i used but i made my own using parts bought from here for 1/2 the price. http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/?jssCart=3a8a5a9afa204e7924693a052dd0566f" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    headlight upgrade

Fitting headlight relays will make a massive difference to the brightness of your stock headlights. My bay only had 9.5v at the bulb connection on the back of the bulb. With the relays it was over 12v with the engine running which made them much brighter.
