    Brake caliper rebuild

Sorry (owent2005) mate haven't been on here for a while, to recap, it came to £39 something, this kit has 4 pistons, seals, dust covers, the little 'o' rings (caliper half seals) bleed nipple covers and a sachet of silicone grease to lubricate the seals.

    Brake caliper rebuild

I decided to have a go at rebuilding my 1971 calipers as the N/S one was binding, and in doing so I damaged the top dust seal groove on one of the pistons. Not sure if you could buy pistons on there own I came across a company called Bigg Red who do kits for early and late bay window buses. I...

    Gearstick problems

Found out the small shaft that inserts into the front bush (below the cup) was bent out of position and also it was pointing downwards so I placed a small diameter tube over the shaft and slowly bent it back straight (with the eye), and now it doesn't pop out when moving the gear lever.

    Gearstick problems

Cheers mate, it was a pain when I went to pick it up, the stick just spun around and I had to tow it out of the yard to the pick up truck, I'll have to take it back out, clean it up and give it the once over.

    Gearstick problems

Hello, I've got a 71 bay, and even when picking it up from Felixstowe the gearstick keeps popping out from the ball in the socket when pushing the lever too the right, any ideas. I've also changed all of the shift rod bushes, coupling bushes, nose cone bushes and seal.

Rear Bearing Replacement on a '71

This is how I did my 71's rear bearings. I made a bearing puller (threaded rod, washers and nuts), I then pulled both bearings (one at a time) into the housing until they both bottomed out on the step (built in).

Sorry mate, the measurement from the top of the window to the bottom of where the 'J' channel is fixed, as I have got some paper templates from another member and knowing my luck I'll fix the 'J' channels in place and the ply headliner will fall out.
