I had the same issue with my 71'
I tried everything to solve it, hot start relay, new loom, etc.
The problem was solved when I put a brand new starter (I tried with a second hand, but it had the same problem).
Hi,
You have a store in Bordeaux, Bugs Are Us : http://www.bugs-are-us.net/
If you need NOS parts or good used parts (always better than shitty new chienes stuff), you can get in contact with Sapito Rafuchas on Facebook.
When travelling in France, you can use Save my VW trip including most good...
I've just ordered this exhaust from CSP : https://www.csp-shop.com/en/exhaust-heating/muffler-beetle-66-13-1600cc-251-001-050-27443a.html
I will use it with TDE pipes.
I read everything good about this muffler..
Yes, I have a 100W flexible solar panel on my 71 tintop roof.
The cables go through the air intake and are linked to a 103Ah AGM battery on the left of the engine.
I have full autonomy with a Dometic CFX28 cooler, phone, laptop, etc.
Hi,
As I'm not a big fan of making holes in my 71, I was thinking about using a strong magnetic leaf (80g/cm² = 0.44oz/inch²).
Will it be enough, or is ther a risk to lose my panel during driving?

Hi,
As it is more and more difficult to get good quality exhausts, I was looking at those who adapted a beetle exhaust to their early van.
How do you make them fit, as everybody is saying that it's impossible because of the apron.
Do you adapt the pipes?
